FEBRUARY WALK-A-BOUT

Come join us for our first ever WALK-A-BOUT!

Since this is our first Walk-A-Bout, let me briefly explain what a Walk-A-Bout is. Basically, everyone meets at a central location. Then 5 or 6 photographers will be grouped together and assigned a model. The photographers and models then "Walk-A-Bout" the area taking images. The images we take are more casual and lifestyle than they are glamour, but I promise you will have a good time. Another great thing about the Walk-A-Bouts is that you can learn from others in your group, and you can practice for all kinds of lighting situations. So even if you shoot weddings, architecture, or even landsapes, a Walk-A-Bout is a great event for you.

Our first Walk-A-Bout will be held at on and around Dixon St, Fayetteville, AR. This should be a great location to do our first Walk-A-Bout event. The week prior to the event I will email out the exact location that we will meet.

And for our first Walk-A-Bout model, we will have the beautiful and talented Makaylia P. as a model! I've worked with Makaylia before and believe me, you will enjoy taking photos of this lovely model.

Finally, as this is our first Walk-A-Bout, I am limiting it to the first 6 photographers that sign up. Rememeber the cost for the Walk-A-Bout is $25 which is due at the time you sign up. If you need to make other arrangements for payment, then simply email me and we can work it out. Payments can be sent to my paypal at [masked]

If you have any other questions, please ask away! Hope to see you soon!

Will we be using any flash? Reflectors?

Hey Max...if you want to bring a reflector and/or flash that is fine. I won't be bringing my camera so I can hold it for you. I hope to teach you guys to use some natural reflectors. None of my natural light images have had the use of a reflector.

I will bring a reflector. So is there an agenda Kevin? Are you going to show us how to snag some killer images? If I can get shots like yours with only natural light I am going to sell a load of stuff on ebay. ;~))

The walk about is more of a low fun event. Gives photographers (esp, new ones) a chance to shoot someone they havn't. And also to just get out and mingle with fellow photogs. As far as an agenda..not really. We'll just walk around the area looking for cool places to shoot. And if the weather is right, I'll definately try to show you some things :)

Dow we have a rain plan? Will the model sign a model release?

If it rains I guess were getting wet :). No, Natalie one of the photogs coming informed me of some nice indoor places around the square if it does rain. I'm hoping it does...tired of this weather. And yes, if you have a release go ahead and bring it.

I sent an email out to the people attending this event on where were meeting, etc. I'm hoping you got it but if not we are gonna meet at 1 in the large public parking lot across from Grubs. I'll be driving a bright red dodge ram...and I'll have the model with me.

Just a quick FYI...I know the weather is not looking great. But I wanted to let you guys know that I"m also gonna be bringing a couple of my studio strobes. I figure there are parking garages, etc that are covered aswell. If you have flashes feel free to bring them...gonna make the best of this. Never know...might end up being a gorgeous day :)

Great time with lots of knowledge and a wonderful model.

We were planning to shoot natural light shots at this activity. Unfortunately Mother Nature was not cooperative and we resorted to flash. Makaylia was a super model and did a wonderful job, she would be hard to beat IMHO. It was good to meet and work along with the other participants. When do we do it again?
  • Natalie Charlton
This was such a fantastic way to learn from other experienced photographers and become more comfortable with shooting. I will definitely do this again next time it is offered. Thank you so much everyone who attended!
